PEOPLE. PLACES. is out!

PEOPLE. PLACES. is out today.

My third album as a leader, and the result of several years of music, writing, collaborations and experiences between Argentina and Austria.

Eight compositions, eleven musicians, two special guests, and many people who helped bring this project to life.

Recorded in Graz in February 2025 and released today by Challenge Records.

Thank you to everyone who was part of this journey — and to everyone who listens.

2nd Single is Out today!

Starting today, the second single from my upcoming album "PEOPLE. PLACES. Music for Large Ensemble" is available to stream on all platforms.

This time, it’s “Zamba del Chaguanco”, a beautiful zamba by Hilda Herrera that I took the risk of arranging for this ensemble. We were lucky enough to have the great Klaus Gesing join us as a special guest on soprano saxophone for this track.

GRAZ – First Single from PEOPLE. PLACES. Out Now

I'm happy to share GRAZ, the first single from my upcoming album PEOPLE. PLACES., released today on Challenge Records.

The piece was inspired by the city that became my home after moving from Argentina to Austria in 2019. Graz is where I found a new community, developed lasting musical collaborations, and gradually shifted my focus toward composition. It felt like the natural place to begin this album.

PEOPLE. PLACES. is a collection of original compositions inspired by the people and places that have shaped my life over the past years. Written for an 11-piece ensemble and featuring distinguished saxophonist and bass clarinetist Klaus Gesing, the album will be released on August 21.

I hope you enjoy listening to GRAZ.

PEOPLE. PLACES. – Coming August 21

After more than two years of writing, rehearsing, recording and post-production, I'm very happy to announce that my new large ensemble album, PEOPLE. PLACES., is finally finished and entering its release phase.

The album features seven original compositions and one arrangement of an Argentinian folk tune, inspired by the people and places that have shaped both my personal journey and my artistic development over the past years.

This project would not have been possible without the incredible support of everyone who contributed to the crowdfunding campaign, as well as the generous institutional support of Land Steiermark, Stadt Graz, SKE Fonds, Hinker Fonds der Gesellschaft der Freunde der KUG, and OH-KUG. My sincere thanks go to all of them for helping bring this music to life.

The album is now available for pre-order, with two singles leading up to the official release:

  • July 24GRAZ
  • August 7Zamba del Chaguanco

PEOPLE. PLACES. will be officially released on August 21, 2025.

More music, videos and behind-the-scenes content will be shared over the coming weeks. I'm looking forward to finally sharing this project with all of you.

MAY NOTES

After a very intense April — concerts, Jazzahead, traveling, and many beautiful moments on the road — May became a quieter month.

Less performing, more writing.
A lot of time spent working on new music, ideas, and everything surrounding PEOPLE. PLACES, the new album coming out this August.

This month also marked the end of the crowdfunding campaign for the record, which was an incredible experience from beginning to end. I’m deeply grateful for all the support, messages, and trust the project received along the way.

And somewhere in between all of that: some much needed quality time with my Fio and Simon ❤️

More soon.

PEOPLE. PLACES. Crowdfunding Campaign

Today I launched the crowdfunding campaign for my upcoming album "PEOPLE. PLACES.", which we recorded last year with my 11-piece band and a special guest appearance by Klaus Gesing.

The idea behind the campaign is to cover the final production costs (mastering, manufacturing, promotion), as well as to serve as a sort of pre-sale for the album.

But the campaign rewards are varied: CDs, lessons, private concerts, and a few other surprises!

I highly recommend you check out the Kickstarter page!

NEW ALBUM IN THE OVEN!

After a lot of preliminary work, preparations, and rehearsals, last weekend we were at Audiotope with the 11tet recording what will be the group's first album and my third.

It was an intense week of rehearsals and three days of maximum concentration in the studio, but we are very happy with the result.

In a few weeks, I will begin selecting the takes and mixing, with the aim of releasing all this music in 2026.

Here are some photos from the session:

NEW VIDEO!

The second video from the live session we did with 11tet in March at Café Stockwerk is now online. This time, the song is 18/5.

Check out the video for two amazing solos by Jonathan Herrgesell and Thomas Quendler.

I look forward to your comments!

NEW VIDEO!

In March I took my 11tet to the mythical Cafe Stockwerk in Graz to shoot a series of videos.

I'm happy to announce the release of the 1st video of this series: of course, a song inspired by this city where I've been living for almost 5 years, GRAZ.

I hope you enjoy it!

Album release!

In June 2021 I was lucky enough to be invited by Asier Ardaiz to record his debut album.
Asier is a virtuoso Spanish trumpet player whom I met in 2019 during my studies in Graz and whom I am lucky to count as one of the great friends that music gave me.

This album was released on all platforms in the last few weeks and is an album worth listening to. Asier arranged 8 Anime songs (Japanese music from animated series) for jazz combo, in different styles and instrumentations.

The album is titled "HERE" and you can listen to it at the following link:

EP Release!

Hey!!

I´ve just posted on my Bandcamp site (http://martiniaies.bandcamp.com) the EP of the session we did in March 2019 with my friends and amazing musicians Julian Mekler (doublebass) and Martin Freiberg (drums) a few months before I came to Austria.

"SUMMER TRIO" consists in 4 original tunes of mine plus an arrangement of The Beatles´s Classic "Blackbird", a tune I really love.

The original idea were some summer jams for playing standards with Marto and Juli, whom I used to play with, but finally I got encouraged to write some music with the guitar in the main role unlike my previos projects where the saxophone was leading with the themes. As the music was flowing good and there was a good chemistry in the rehearsal room we decided to get into the studio for a short session, for having a register of that music.

By recommendation of Martin, we went to Panacea Studio were Santiago Iezzi was working as recording engineer. The result is this 5 tunes EP which is available in Bandcamp from July 2nd and will be in the other streaming platforms soon.
