Some cool dates in FEB & MAR!

After a couple of months of not being very active in terms of concerts, February and March are going to be a couple of intense months in terms of quantity and diversity (and quality, why not?!).

February starts with the visit of my dear friend Asier Ardaiz, the virtuoso trumpet player from Navarre with whom I was lucky to share studios in Graz and in whose album HERE (2023) I was lucky to participate. We will be playing with a 4tet assembled for the occasion (Max Kreuzer on double bass and Lukas Kleemair on drums) on February 7th at Miles Jazz Bar, besides giving us the pleasure of playing a private duo concert the day before.
Speaking of duos and private concerts, I will be playing on February 16th with Max Kreuzer. Duoing with double bass is probably one of my favorite formats and it's been a long time since I've done it live, so it's really a date I'm looking forward to.

The last week of February is expected to be a busy one: on Wednesday 28th I will again accompany Eva Argentina, as I did in November, at Cafe Kaiserfeld and with Nina Angammana on percussion. A little bit of Argentine music to go back to the roots.
And on Friday March 1st we play at MORI (an excellent venue for acoustic music, come check it!) with a trio also formed for the occasion: Kaan Karadavut on flugelhorn and Max Kreuzer on double bass. With Kaan we have been playing a lot in the last two years and with Max we will meet for the 3rd time in the same month. We will be playing original compositions by the 3 of us, as well as some Kenny Wheeler, Bill Frisell and Carla Bley stuff. It has all the makings of a nice date, so it's one of my recommendations for the month!.

A couple of weeks off and then the two main courses I have been working on for a couple of months:

Wednesday, March 20 at Unicorn I'll be performing a new trio that I'm not used to, with Manca Noč on clarinet and Siul Prado on Cello. It's going to be a short showcase where we will play a couple of original compositions and arrangements I made especially for this formation. Other groups will also be playing, so it's a nice date to have a good evening.

And on Tuesday March 27th something I've been working on for a couple of years: we will record live in Stockwerk (an emblematic place for jazz in Graz and Europe) some songs with my 11tet. I'm already looking forward to show some of the material we've been working on for a long time.

I will be posting about each of these dates with more precise information about directions and times, and I hope to see some familiar faces during all these concerts!
